Anastasia Menektchieva, BS

Background
Anastasia is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy program at Northwestern University. With a strong foundation in Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), she is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, children, and families through relational and emotionally attuned care. Anastasia has experience as a Behavioral Health Counselor, where she has provided one-on-one assessments, facilitated group therapy, and
utilized evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. She is trained in risk assessment and crisis prevention and brings a trauma-informed lens to her work. Anastasia is committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and inclusive space where clients feel empowered in
their healing journey.

Therapeutic Approach
At the core of Anastasia’s therapeutic style is her commitment to creating a relationship where
clients feel emotionally safe, seen, and accepted exactly as they are. She works intentionally to
build a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients can explore their
experiences with honesty and vulnerability. Anastasia understands that trust is foundational to
therapy, and she approaches each session with empathy, curiosity, and genuine care. Her goal is
to collaborate with clients in a way that feels respectful, personalized, and empowering, honoring
their autonomy while walking alongside them in their journey toward growth and healing.
Anastasia practices therapy through the lens of Integrative Systemic Therapy (IST), a
comprehensive and flexible model that focuses on understanding individuals within the broader
context of their lives such as family, relationships, identity, work, and community. She believes
that the challenges we face are not isolated problems, but rather responses to patterns and
dynamics that exist within the systems we are a part of. IST is a holistic, non-pathologizing
approach that highlights strengths and encourages empowerment. Anastasia uses IST to help
clients identify unhelpful sequences, trace their origins, and collaboratively build new patterns
that foster healing, growth, and self-understanding.
