Introduction:
Evie is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Illinois Institute of Technology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, along with a Certificate in Health and the Humanities, from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Evie is fluent in both Korean
and English.
Therapeutic Approach:
Evie works with children, adolescents, and adults and has experience supporting students and individuals across a range of ages and developmental stages. Her approach is strengths-based,
multicultural, and culturally responsive. She recognizes that each person brings their own history, culture, identity, relationships, and lived experiences into the therapeutic space. She believes that people are more than the challenges or labels they may bring into counseling.
Her work is grounded in curiosity about each client’s individual story, including not only what is difficult, but also what is meaningful, valued, and already present in their lives. She approaches counseling collaboratively, helping clients build greater self-understanding, recognize their
strengths, and explore possibilities for change.
Her experiences in multicultural, community, rehabilitation, and assessment settings have
strengthened her understanding of how developmental, cognitive, emotional, and environmental
factors intersect. Her background in music also informs her appreciation for creativity and selfexpression as meaningful avenues for exploring emotions, identity, and healing.
