Tiarra earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Tiarra also has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. She has extensive interests in working with individuals with depression, anxiety, transitional and identity issues, couples, families, and children. Tiarra has experience working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and also working with children with Autism as a behavior analyst. In addition, Tiarra has extensive experience and training providing therapeutic services in a private practice setting.

Tiarra works from a multicultural approach by taking into account one’s cultural background and identity when working with her clients. Tiarra uses an integrative model pulling from different theoretical approaches to strengthen and empower clients. She uses a CBT approach which connects our thoughts, emotions and behaviors together. She also utilizes mindfulness based approaches that encompasses the connection between mind and body. As well as a psychodynamic approach, which encompasses understanding that the past can influence the present.

Tiarra works collaboratively with clients to help them reach their goals and empower them using strength-based approaches and unconditional positive regard for clients.
